Castiel - I am an Angel of the Lord

Appearance:
Castiel’s chosen vessel represents his stoic personality quite well, there is a distinct average air to him that may make it easy to mistake him. His true appearance of course would be far too much for any human to handle, but he has grown quite comfortable and fond of his earthly body that at times he almost forgets it is not his true form. He is an average height though he has a toned build, his face is strong in character with expressive eyes and sharp cheekbones and there is a definite not-quite-rightness to the way he moves and acts physically that almost betrays his true identity.

His eyes, his most brilliant feature a bright blue in colour are his most expressive feature and he has a habit of staring quite intensely without breaking gaze or faltering, he also tends to invade personal space on a regular basis. His consistency in his choice of clothing is his trademark to those that know him; well dressed in a suit and blue tie and his faded brown trench coat. He rarely smiles or expresses his emotions as he is simply not used to doing so though he does have a warm smile when he chooses to use it, otherwise he is quite stoic and sombre in his air, his deep gravely voice adding to this furthermore as he has not quite mastered his vessels own voice.

His wings are not physically visible however he has means of showing them though it is rare, there is very little about him that marks him a holy or angellic being and it is only through his strange behaviour and regular confusion at most human technologies that betray his true self.


Personality:
Castiel like most of his brothers and sister is not the fluffy happy cliché of an angel one might think, though he is incredibly loyal and dutiful he is not aversed to death or sacrifice of human life for the greater good. He is only just beginning to adjust to life on earth and has yet to be taught any better other than what he has been ordered to do from his superiors. Whilst he can appear very stubborn and hard at times he is often just obeying orders and there is a definite soft side to him and even a hint of reluctance which becomes far more evident when he finally deals with the Winchester’s.

He is hopelessly confused by most human technologies and mannerisms, he is incredibly socially awkward and has a problem with personal space or appearing at random times. He is curious no doubt and it is his softness towards humankind that eventually leads him to stray but for the time being he is loyal to heaven and he still fully believes in God’s love and the Prophecy, and that nothing can be done to change either of the Winchester boys’ fate. He is quite high in ranking though he still fears the Archangels and is hesitant to put a foot wrong, in time he will begin to challenge everything he ever knew about his beliefs and accept that not everything is set in stone and there will always be choice.

History:
As far as histories go Castiel’s stretches back far and distant though much of it is in another worldly place, his history on Earth however is a short lived one. He has only recently touched down on Earth; one of the chosen Angels to guide Sam and Dean towards their fate, he has been watching them for much of their lives but it is only now he is able to interact with them. He has interacted with Jimmy Novac, his vessel, for some years but it was only recently he finally requested to inhabit his body and make contact with the prophesised Winchester’s. After a brief experience with Uriel attempting to get used to his form and Earths inhabitants he is ready to approach Dean and Sam and attempt to explain their future and his role in it, he knows it will be an incredibly difficult wall to break but there is no going back now.

The streetlights flickered nervously overhead, a soft white mist was rolling in across the parking lot of the motel and there was a sense of silence to the sleepy atmosphere, the highway running through the enclosed spaces disappeared both ways into darkness on the horizon. Beneath a broken bulbed streetlight Castiel stood facing the doorway of the end motel room, his face was set hard and stern and every breath his released emitted a light cloud of white.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and his hands clenched at his sides slightly, this was the fourth night in a row he had hovered outside the Winchester’s chosen residence but all was quiet for the time being, far too quiet for a pair of demon hunters, he was expecting shady characters to lurk outside their window each night but there was nothing. A noise in the distance caught his attention and his head snapped to face it, the soft rumble of a car approaching reached him first before the bright headlights caught his attention. As the car rolled by the motel and the headlights hit the spot where he had been standing he was no longer there to be seen and the only thing to break the silence was the soft hum of the crickets gathering in the brown overgrown grass.
