Race/ Species: Human ('Itako' - A human who is blind, but can see the supernatural from beyond the veil. IE, Ghosts, Reapers, Angels, and Demons, both of which reside in otherworldly planes such as Heaven or Hell. Think of it as an advanced form of the vision people who are on the eve of their 'deadline' for a demon deal would have.)
Appearance: Visibly blind in that there is a sickly green film covering her eyes, Kira takes the standard appearance of most Japanese; shorter than 'westerners', brown eyes (Not that anyone can tell), pale skin, and black hair. Most of Kira's body is covered however, as she tends to wear shirts with overly long sleeves, equally large pants, and a hat that covers her head from the top to her nose. On her feet, she wears cheap flip-flops, or occasionally, sneakers depending on the climate.
Her hair in question, is exceedingly long, as it has never been cut more than around half an inch to keep it healthy. It reaches almost to her knees, and falls back behind her, as well as over her shoulders, covering both sides of the face; the only visible portion of her face is her nostrils, mouth, and chin.

Personality: Not one to shy around the details, Kira grew up quick, and with very high expectations; rather, she had high expectations for those around her, reflecting those place upon herself. Sort of. It's rather difficult to explain those 'expectations' and how they transfer really.
Kira is an extremely stubborn, but frighteningly cunning little girl; a trait that, oddly enough, is not at all uncommon among most girls her age. She knows what she wants, and she will get it- and if you happen to be in the way of that well, to bad for you.
Thankfully however, unlike most little girls, her wants are not in the area of barbies, or kittens or silly things such as those. Rather, she prefers to simply make her life easier by calming the spirits around her- it's made her a sort of 'detective for the dead' almost, especially in the case of the spirits who aren't violent, but simply 'stuck'. She's quick to the point however, and if she won't recieve payment, tough luck. She has to feed herself somehow after all. Kira does think ahead however; if, say, she deduced that helping someone would eventually prevent the worlds end, she would likely do it. (Granted, it works in the reverse as well...)
Kira has a habit of speaking rather cryptically, almost in code; mostly, this combines the use of nicknames she creates for those she meets with obscure mythology. She also tends to speak rather jokingly, with a large dose of 'higher than thou' in terms of tone. To her, if you can't 'be bothered' to figure out said code, than you were better off not knowing in the first place...
Though it does help when being listened in on as well.
History/Bio/Background: Born in Nara, Japan, Kira's parents were almost infamous in their efforts as hunters among the more 'spiritual' community. However, for reasons unknown, all the knowledge in the world led them to make one very bizzare decision; namely freeing one of the Demons from the Lesser Key of Solomon. Killed by the partner they had with them, their deaths managed to put the demon himself in a rather awkward 'life debt' type situation.
Which he, of course, as with most demons caught in a deal, could not get out of. So, Kira was raised by... A demon. (Regardless of the fact that said demon could not lay a hand on Kira however, the demon did see fit to use Kira as a sort of medium/shield against anything that might come his way.)
Focusing mostly on ghosts and the like, while staying as far away as possible from demons in question, Kira was raised learning the magic and chants of most 'old-style' priestesses- in laymen's terms, 'witches'. Magic with 'no drawbacks', using blood and rice paper strips. Unlike most magic, which would require demon worship, or human sacrifice, the system would meld itself to Kira's body, making the magic itself synonomous with her own energy.
Mostly, this involved typical prayerstrips, used to banish lower-class demons or spirits. However, after the recent opening of Devil's Gate, Kira's 'caretaker' had decided that this was the time. Both Kira and Haures, the demon, took a flight over to the USA, lying in wait for news of what would occur next...
Possibly getting rid of a few ghosts while they're at it.
Roleplaying example: As the plane landed in what most from Japan would call 'The West', regardless of it's easterly location, Kira unfolded her crossed legs, holding her hands before her and she holding a conversation with 'thin air'. What appeared to be thin air however, would, at least when looked at closely, reveal itself to be an extremely large cloud of dust, which had spread itself out to cover a majortiy of the plane; including its passengers.
Kira, for the moment, seemed to be rather ticked with the dust cloud. "Really Haures-san," she said as she seemingly glared through her hat and at the window, "I rather liked Luo Mei. To dispose of her so roughly is quite uncouth."
The cloud moved slightly, unheard to the other passengers as its charge huffed. "Hmp! And to think you were once an angel of all things, no wonder you were sealed after the fall." The dust shifted at this; he never should have told her about that.
